The Final Rubber Duck Race

Sunday, September 9th, was Singapore’s last duck race.
The event is very similar to Evansville’s “Ducks on the Ohio”: rubber ducks are bought by individuals (for $10) and the ducks float along the Singapore River. The money is collected for charities with some reserved for the rubber ducks that makes it to the end. Singapore’s first prize is $10,000, with money and prizes for the top 50 ducks.
The photo above shows some of the 85,000 plastic ducks that were released yesterday. Singapore’s Duck Race has been around since 1998, and they set a Guinness World Record in 1992 for most rubber ducks in an event (~123,000).

Kinda cool. Kinda seems like you were desperate for a new blog post though
. Where did you learn of this?
I think I was reading an article on an Yahoo: Asia. There was a picture reel on the right side and I saw some ducks, so I clicked it.
