Is That Copyrighted?
I was reading the Boston Phoenix and I ran into a half-page summary of Good Copy Bad Copy while going out to lunch. It caught my interest, and soon enough, I was watching the documentary at home. Good Copy Bad Copy gives a phenomenal discussion of copyright and culture, from the views of different people.
I don’t think I could disagree with any point made in this movie: creativity is restricted due to copyrights; people do things for free out of passion; open sourcing is part of our Web 2.0 culture.
There are a handful of clips not shown in the documentary, which I can do a bit of hunting for, but the movie gets the message across. So if you have some free time, possibly while you are youtubing or myspacing, you can gain some insight.
