Why I Hate Cheezburgers

I love cheeseburgers, even those greasy, fast-food, plastic ones. I am referencing the increasingly popular image macro of animals (usually cats), otherwise known as lolcats. I admit, I first found these things entertaining. Heck, I still look at them for laughs and use 4chan’s “O rly? Ya rly. No wai!” to chime in at jesting.

What concerns me is not the picture, but the increasing stupidity of today’s culture. In reply to an image of a eating kitten, Lisa states:

Whut yoo kant see iz that dis kitteh’s brudder walked bye an thwacked himz on teh hed jest az himz started drinkin himz miwlk.

Not only this, but all the other comments on icanhascheezburger.com are constructed in such a way that there seems to be vernacular-envy. I used to think this was the “nu-thug” way of typing messages, and I was glad to see it applied to animals with the inability to communicate. Maybe this meme is just getting to me, but when people in their mid-20s want to be a lolcat, I find something terribly wrong.
